“Gold, God, and Glory” was a phrase used to demonstrate the reasons why the early explorers traveled across the world. They had to risk everything to get where they wanted to go. They risked their riches, their food, and even their lives. By doing this there were more than just positive results. The explorer's endeavors affected people all over the world. Some explorers, like Henry the Navigator, explored new lands because they believed that they were required to spread their religious beliefs to everyone that they could meet.
