The issue of gun rights and gun control has been brewing for many years, the issue started in early America when the Colonists were frustrated of how the British were treating the people. The colonists quickly took charge and established a government which created what is known as the Constitution. Out of twenty-seven Amendments the Second Amendment which is “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”, is the most talked about one in recent times. There are one side of people that say that guns are the reason for all the violence happening around the U.S. today. Those people state that the government is not strong enough to keep a strict gun law and that they should just start getting rid of the gun laws in the U.S. “As if this could be known—as if it could be assessed without massively violating civil liberties and stigmatizing the mentally ill. Ban guns! Not just gun violence. Not just certain guns. Not just already-technically-illegal guns. All of them.” (Bovy). The author of that article wants all guns to be off the market and make it illegal to own guns, The author refers to how the San Bernardino incident was not done because of hate but it was done because of the mental illness that person had, and that is a huge problem in gun ownership. The Article (End the gun epidemic in America) makes a good point, “It is not necessary to debate the peculiar wording of the Second Amendment. No right is unlimited and immune from reasonable regulation.”(The Editorial Board). The author explains how people have the right to want to change the law because the government has all the right to change the Amendments but first the government has to realize the damage that guns are doing to the society, and admit that the subject of gun control has been avoided and that the Amendment is not valuable and viable
