It’s the twenty first century, therefore, don’t you think it is an appropriate time to rethink some of the so called or well known facts based on scientific advancements and discovery? The topic of evolution has been a debate for ages. However, there is mounting evidence that the debate is coming to a close given that recent evolutionary findings are demonstrating that our ancestors are in fact fish. So, in accordance with evolutionary history, my family tree does include fish, particularly if you were to examine my aquatic ancestors of over four hundred million years ago and the physical, biological, and evolutionary data. Some people only believe it when they see it, therefore, it is mandatory to obtain the tangible physical evidence to support the theory of evolution to convince optical learners. Thus, Neil Shubin, the paleontologist who is credited for finding the fossil, Tiktaalik, was determined to bridge the gap between water and land. In order to achieve this goal, Shubin allowed for closer examination of the transitional fossil Tiktaalik and “technicians dissected its pectoral fins, they …show more content…
In particular, we are related through physical, biological, and evolutionary data. We are physically related through our bone structure. The one bone, two bones, multiple bones, fingers pattern, is derived from fish, the first organisms to possess bones. We are biologically related when comparing our embryos and anatomy similarities. Not only do our embryos look the same but, we both have gills though they support different purposes. We are evolutionarily related through Darwin’s theory and natural selection. For without natural selection, we would still be fish. In simplest terms, natural selection is just one colossal competition between organisms for survival which, inevitably causes evolution, further establishing that we are related to
