The race relations are struggling and are not improving in the United States. You would think that Obama the first African American President elected would have signified unity in the country but instead it did not bring any groups closer to becoming unified. In the videos, they show how that the scenarios were implemented during President Obama’s presidency which is disheartening because even though there were people who acted and helped a good percentage of people just ignored it and went out about their business. These videos show in different instances how prejudice and discrimination towards another race are still prevalent, but some people might argue that race relations are good. With color-blind racism it lets an individual seem unprejudiced while allowing injustice, inequality, and discrimination to continue. Color-blind racism does not remove and has no effect on racism. If we ignore the ethnic and racial injustice that we see, then we allow these problems to persist. Rather than deal with the problem such as racism, discrimination, and prejudice they are acting like there are no differences there. If we don’t focus on the disadvantaged groups or say that we don’t see race it does nothing to resolve the problem. Minorities are told that their differences such as their race doesn’t matter, but are treated in a certain way because of their race which can cause problems rather than being improved. I believe when you say you are color-blind in some you are still being racist because you are not acknowledging the problems that still exist in society against minorities. To able to move past color-blind racism we are going to need a collaborative effort to actively work towards to removing institional discrimination towards minorities. Also, we need to work together to unite, act, and speak up towards the racism and discrimination in the United
