The idea of public post-secondary education has been around for an extremely long time. Furthermore, it is still considered to be one of the most astonishing and remarkably well-accomplished propositions. In fact, recent studies, in the fall of 2015, found that there were well over twenty million postsecondary students enrolled in American college education. Additionally, this demonstrates how popular postsecondary education is becoming; especially when you take into account that in a decade and a half more than five million students enrolled. With this increase of postsecondary education wanted and the expensive reality of college, we often come face to face with the question, “Should College Be Free?”. Did you know that only about twenty percent of first-time, full-time students who attend public community colleges earn their associate's degree, diplomas or certificates within the span of their first three years at college? With the average cost of a public community college being around 13,000 dollars annual, and with the average student going to a two-year education for three-years, the sum adds up to nearly 40,000 dollars total. Thus, more than eighty percent of the original postsecondary education class doesn’t graduate, furthermore, most don't get their degrees, diplomas or certificates. Which proves that the statistics on public community colleges do act as a “dead end” for students. If students are willing to waste that much money, who’s to say that’d even take “free” college
