Why should Colleges consider being free?

College should be free to every student who wants to further their education. Furthering your education shouldn’t be decided based on a dollar amount. There are many reasons as to why college should be free. Without the financial burden, every person would have a fair and equal chance to go to college. Removing the cost of college would allow for students to choose whatever major they wanted to. However, if students were responsible for the cost of school, they would take it more seriously.

The cost of college is one of the many reasons that people choose not to attend. It wouldn’t discriminate between people of different socioeconomic classes, giving everyone a fair chance. Cost wouldn’t be a factor when deciding schools, so students could attend college anywhere, not just where it’s convenient. Everyone would be able to compete fairly in our global workforce. Higher education wouldn’t be a determining factor in someone being able to be a productive member of society.

In addition to everyone having an opportunity, students would be able to study whatever they’re passionate about. The focus wouldn’t be money.
