Imagine in the year 2020, you are sitting at your desk looking at the clock as it ticks. You are still in school since it has been decided that the school hours were extended. You feel tired and exhausted. Consequently, you’re not able to concentrate since you are only used to 7 hours of school. Recently governor Chris Christie proposed a plan to extend the school day and year. I believe having the school day and year extended is not a very good idea. Since long days of school may cause extreme pressure on students and less time for outside interests. All in all I believe having longer school days and year can cause many issues to us students. Extending the school day and year is a controversial issue in which many people do not agree on . Personally I believe it’s bad to have extended school hours. One reason, schools should not be extended is that it causes pressure on students leading to death. According to the article, “Longer School Days Affect Everyone,” it states “ Students in Japan are forced to attend long classes year-round and physically punished if they don’t perform. For example, in the article “Pros vs Cons of Extended School Days,” it states “ This is the time they currently spend on extracurricular activities of their choice.” This proves outside of school we love to do all sorts of things like sports, dance, or other activities. Some people might argue that it’s not important for their child to be outside doing what they love, and they should be inside studying to get better grades, and have a better life for themselves.
