Although some might object that the more time we have during school, the more time we forget about the subjects we learn in the beginning of the year. I would reply that the more time we are in school, the more our brain expands and holds in on all of this knowledge. For this reason and more, this issue is important because this issue is the difference between more time in school or not.

To start with, switching to a four-day school week with longer school hours would make students feel more tired instead. As school hours are longer, students would have to concentrate for a longer period of time in class each day. School hours are extended, so some students may need to get up earlier to arrive school punctually, leading to students having less time for rest. Students now would stay longer at school, which means they would have less time afterschool to revise or rest.

Having more school days will help students have more time to work on academics thoroughly in order to help them succeed in their future. “I think that extending the amount of time gives you the chance as a teacher to explain things and more time for kids to digest everything that’s going on--to review, to do things at a much slower pace .
Government believes extending the school day or even extending the amount of days a student attends school make will a big difference academically. Some are even pushing for year round school. This is not the best choice. For one extending the school year to a whole year will actually do the opposite then planned. Introduction: Hours and hours out of your life, when u could go to school at the regular time it was always. I disagree with them making school longer because it would make a kids life boring because we would have less time to do stuff on our own time, we would have a lot less stress, and its long enough as it is. Body Paragraph 1: I feel that they should not make school longer because kids would have alot less stress. Because kids have to deal with 8 sum hours of school, whats the point in making it longer for no reason, all it does is make people stress more.
Many people think that if school days are shortened then students will lose time learning, however the attention span of the average teen 13-15 is only 30-40 minutes. Many schools have 50 minute or longer periods. Students can not focus for this long so, if periods are shortened to 30-40 minutes it will shorten the day and let teens focus while the lesson is taking place and not losing track. This will be more efficient because if students lose focus during those longer periods, they will not learn what is being taught. However, if students are taught in a 30-40 minute period, they are more likely to not lose focus and understand the lesson being taught.

In "The Rise of the Four-Day School Week," the pros and cons of the four-day school week are discussed. Pros include how switching to a four-day school week lowers the cost of cafeteria food and transportation and gives students and teachers an extra day off to unwind. Cons include the fact that students spend 85 hours less annually than students who attend regular five-day school weeks, in this essay i will be discussing why school districts should choose to go to a four-day school week. My first argument in favor of switching to a four-day school week is that shorter school weeks are more typical in rural areas where students and staff are located farther away from the schools. I disagree with this statement, I believe that it would help me learn more and give me extra learning time but it would just be weird. I eat breakfast with my family but if they add more hours of school I could not eat breakfast. It would be too early to get up and cook because by the time I would have taken my shower and got dressed the bus or my mom would have been ready to leave. I would not get to eat any breakfast unless I ate it at school but then I would have had to pay for it.

Debate essay Ask anyone and I’m pretty sure they would tell you they want longer weekends. Students start looking forward to 3pm on Friday the minute their alarm wakes them up on Monday morning. Weekends are opportunities for students to let go of stress and to focus on the activities they enjoy. Some people just want longer weekends because they’re too lazy or busy. Longer weekends would make school more and exciting for students because it would give them more opportunities for self-directed work.
