In June 21, 1973, Miller was convicted on the ground of advertising the sale of what was considered by the court as adult material. He was found guilty as he broke the California Statute. The California Statute forbids citizens from spreading what is considered offensive in societal standards. The question that was being asked was that if the action of Miller was Constitution thus is protected under the law. However, he lost the case due to a vote of 5 - 4.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
Sam Brownback, the 46th Governor of Kansas, has one goal in mind and that is to make Kansas the best place for families to grow. However, as of now, Brownback is not able to achieve his goal because he had caused a massive state debt due to cutting taxes. These controversial actions can put Kansas in a dark hole. Brownback was elected again by the Kansas citizens in 2014. Sam Brownback should not have been elected again as the Governor of Kansas because he is cutting money for public schooling, he is increasing the tax rate on the lower class and middle class to make up for his debt, and increasing taxes are causing Kansans to flee.
The Alaskan Bush is one of the hardest places to survive without any assistance, supplies, skills, and little food. Jon Krakauer explains in his biography, Into The Wild, how Christopher McCandless ventured into the Alaskan Bush and ultimately perished due to lack of preparation and hubris. McCandless was an intelligent young man who made a few mistakes but overall Krakauer believed that McCandless was not an ignorant adrenalin junkie who had no respect for the land. Krakauer chose to write this biography because he too had the strong desire to discover and explore as he also ventured into the Alaskan Bush when he was a young man, but he survived unlike McCandless. Krakauer’s argument was convincing because he gives credible evidence that McCandless was not foolish like many critics say he was.
To start off with the most important thing about the 4th amendment is that we the people should for safe to go in public and not be afraid to be searched unless the police have probable cause, and reasonable suspicion. The first question i'll be addressing is what fundamental should a American have in the 4th Amendment. Katz v Ohio is a perfect example of what fundamental should a American have in the 4th Amendment, Katz was convicted under an 8-count indictment. I believe the government went too far by attaching a device to hear his conversations, that's invading personal privacy with a non probable cause. The next reason i'll be presenting is writs of assistance.
Argumentative Paper Zoos and aquariums have been around since the times of the Romans and the Egyptians. Although the zoos and aquariums have adapted since those times, they still have the same concept behind them. Although zoos and aquariums have been around for ages, over the decades, controversy about these two places have grown. Although most people don’t think anything of it, there is a huge debate as to whether zoos and aquariums are acceptable or not. This topic can be very touchy to some people and can sometimes cause disputes.
De-Extinction, a interesting topic that most people don’t have an opinion on. De-extinction is a process which uses the DNA of extinct animals and use a surrogate mother and father to bring back an extinct animal. Scientists are working on ways to bring back animals such as wooly mammoths and maybe even dinosaurs. This is a very hopeful topic from different points of view, and a very scary topic from others. Also, some scientists think it’s impossible for certain animals and not for others.
Imagine all the trouble of owning a puppy, owning a tiger is much worse. Imagine the expenses of that tiger and the dangers and hazards of owning that tiger. Do you really think it’s a good idea to get that tiger? No, it’s not. It’s a lot of work, and it’s also extremely dangerous.
In Hawaii, feral cats are considered nuisances. Often, they wander into yards and areas they are unwanted, such as parks or yards. They hunt our natural wildlife, especially rare species of native Hawaiian birds. Despite the harm they cause, feral cats are in danger themselves. Putting down these animals is inhumane, yet for the wildlife’s safety and the feral cats’ own, it is imperative for their populations to decline.
Zoos and can be places where the imagination and creativity of people, especially children, can come alive and inspire them to tread avenues that they never expected they would take. In the early years of my childhood, I spent many hours observing and studying wild animal exhibits in zoos in Seattle Washington. I would imagine myself in my dream world as zoo keeper or a veterinarian helping animals and knowing them each by name. As I studied and let my imagination run free; I knew that someday, somehow, I would be involved in the care of animals. Without the establishment of zoos and, I would have never realized my dreams and perused a career in biology and animal care.
Have you ever thought about which animals are near extinction or endangerment ? Have you looked them up? How many are left? Which ones have been removed? Do you know why they are going endangered?
The interactions between humans and dolphins started centuries ago when our ancestors carved drawings of cetaceans on rocks and passed on legends and folk tales; some described them as beasts and others as spiritual creatures. These marine mammals are also hunted as long as three thousand years ago as resources: their meat for food; their blubber for oil, and their teeth and bones for clothes, jewelry, or tools (Bauer, McCafferty, Simmonds, & Wright, 2013, p.201). As time pass, dolphin and whale hunting became a more prominent and structured industry, and the knowledge about these marine mammals’ biology and behaviors grew. In recent decades, with the help of ample media exposure and scientific publications, the public shifted its attitude
Animal Cruelty Have you ever wondered how much atrocious animal treatments are occurring around the world? The average number of animal abuse cases reported in the media each year is 1,920 according to a study conducted this year by Statistic Brain Research Institute. Moreover, a lot of animals struggle around the globe because they are often beaten, neglected and hunted, which forces them to fight for survival. Helpless animals continue to be exploited by humans and are still constantly being robbed of their lives. Thus, animal cruelty is the killing, exploiting and neglecting the needs of animals that are causing extinction and nonessential suffering.
Animal Rights Some people assume that just because animals cannot speak that they cannot feel pain. It is not okay to torture living beings that have their own thoughts and breathe the exact same air us humans breathe. It is unjust and selfish to stand by and take no action while everyday hundreds if not thousands of innocent animals die without reason. No matter how much fur or how many limbs the creature has; it should be treated as equal as a person. A heart beat is a heartbeat regardless of the body it’s in.
Killing Animals In the present, the world has changed in many sides. One of changing is numbers of killing animals are increasing continuous. Many people think what are reasons for this acting?
