In the story of Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, the protagonist Tom is a businessman. His tactics are to be said as such, moving boys all alike to fall into his plans like a business. Persuasion is the tool that runs this business, as he can demonstrate with in-depth knowledge how to buy people or bargain value from what is a waste of their time. By convincing the specialty of the task at hand and by his ability to foster dedication to a task with pride, he can turn onlookers into a dedicated workforce. It begins as the narrative progresses to mid-chapter 2, where Tom has started to perform his whitewashing on the fence, stroking and painting it all to his time on this Sunday.
One night Tom and Huck went to the graveyard and witnessed a murder. They saw Injun Joe kill Doctor Robinson, but Injun Joe had framed Muff Potter. Tom doesn’t know to tell or not, but keeping the secret to himself makes him feel bad. Some people say that Tom should tell because he feels really bad and cannot sleep at night, but they should not tell because in the long run, everything will turn out good. The reasons that Tom and Huck should not tell is because the people in the town wouldn’t believe them, they would most likely die, and he will eventually start feeling better.

Should the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, be replaced with another piece of literature or is there another way that the problem of having the word “n-word” be fixed? To begin with, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, is a novel about a boy named Huckleberry Finn and a slave named Jim who are both trying to escape some type of social expectation, but on the way to freedom they encounters many different obstacles. Throughout the novel, the “n-word” is used frequently and some may even say that it is used excessively to a point where it might be offensive to readers. Although changing the “N-word” to “slave” and replacing this novel with another work of American literature creates valid arguments, ultimately The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn should remain the same way it was written simply because the “N-word” shows how African-Americans were addressed in the Jim Crow era.
Every child comes into this world as a selfish, manipulative, cruel and stubborn being. It is the parents and society that teaches children how to function in a civilized world, and societal laws that keeps them under control. William Golding wrote this novel in the early years of the cold war and the atomic age. In William Golding's classic novel Lord of the Flies, Golding uses Jack, a young savage who looks to lead a group of stranded kids on an island with no food, no rules, and no adults. The effect freedom has on Jack has turned him into a savage because he does not have to listen to anyone since there are no adults on the island.

Mostly because of the themes is portrays. The religious aspect is huge, in that the south was incredibly religious back then, and rejecting the church and the primary motivator to keep you believing was considered a huge break of society. One person rejecting the church could snowball into more, so historically the church has been pretty sensitive about people leaving. I didn't even know the book was banned in some of these schools, so I guess the fear of leaving is still really great in some areas, but I don't think there are too many people who would abandon their faith based on what a storybook says. Evidently, it must not be that strong to begin with, then.
Enough evidence was given in the book that Hester deserves the punishment. To prove that she does, Hester was raised as a Puritan so she knew what would be the consequences she has committed adultery and is left with a baby alone to raise without a father role model. As well she is not suited to be a mother. She can’t keep Pearl.
Tom Sawyer should not tell the cops what he saw, what he saw was so horrific because there is no way of knowing what could have happened to Huck and Tom. He saw the murder of the doctor, Injun Joe killed him and then framed Muff Potter for the murder. We know, there was no technology back then that could be used to know one hundred percent that DNA was the person that was accused for murder. Today, we have technology to see what fingerprints that are on weapons that the victim was hurt with.

Tom should have testified against Joe in court for these reasons: He would grow, he would earn recognition and he would set an example. The first reason Tom should have testified in court is that it could develop his character. Even though witnessing in court would be scary, doing so would teach him the importance of not giving in to fear. Tom desperately needed to learn how to stand up to injustice.
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
