This year’s StayClassy fundraising initiative was record-setting. The State Fundraising initiative was able to raise $111,211 surpassing its goal and breaking records. This was primarily due to matching grants and strong dedication from JSA student leaders. It was a grassroots effort with many individual contributions under $50. Next year, I hope to further improve the State Fundraising initiative on StayClassy and set new records.
For example, the story states, “Unbelievable,’ Eckels breathed, the light of the Machine on his thin face. ‘A real Time Machine.’ He shook his head” (Bradbury 289). As this example shows, time machines are more interesting because they show not to mess with the past, and they are more common to science fiction. In contrast, “Nethergrave” uses computers and being able to go into the computer.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
Many young women feel pressure to always look their best, and pale skin is certainly not "in." But one woman, named Ashley Trenner, warned young girls that they should be thankful for the skin they are born with, because trying to change it could cost them their life. Trenner began using tanning beds when she was in high school, and she tanned so much that her mother begged her to stop. But Trenner refused, and for 15 years, she visited the tanning bed a few times every week.
Decisions made in the 1850s ultimately decided the United States fate. From the election of 1856 to the Dred Scott case, the nation would become divided into two. The South was pro-slavery and supported the idea of slavery expanded into western territories, while the North opposed of the idea and was mainly against expanding slavery. Until the 1850s the nation barely balanced the slavery issue.
Progress in the 1920s The 1920s being an overall progress or not really depends on the person’s opinion as there are facts to support both sides of the argument, but I believe it was not a time of progress. The roaring 20s were seen as a time of economic growth but in reality there were people like Prairie farmers that suffered due to the wheat market collapsing while more people were moving into cities to find jobs and they were not successful. Much of the success during the 1920s were due to the new technologies that provided more entertainment, such as the radio which became one the first form of entertainment and news to Canadians.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?

It took just forty five days for United States citizens to acquiesce their rights to freedom and privacy for the sake of safety following the events of September 11, 2001. Forty five days is how long it took the United States Congress to pass a law that gave up the very concept of liberty upon which this country is founded. The morning sky was a brilliant shade of blue with not a cloud in sight in New York on that fateful day of September. That all changed at 8:45 AM when a Boeing 767 jet plane tore into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Eighteen minutes later, a second Boeing 767 bit into the sixtieth floor of the south tower.
Brody Denno Mr. Whittaker English II 28 February 2023 Persuasive/Argumentative Essay Revision As stated by Arthur Miller in his book, The Crucible, from his character John Proctor, “There might also be a dragon with five legs in my house, but no one has ever seen it.” (Act III, Page 1094). This quote may not be so specific to Act III, but can relate to many things in history, including The Red Scare in the mid-20th Century, The Holocaust also in the mid-20th Century, and the Iraq War in the early 21st Century. When all of these events in history relate to the same topic of The Crucible, these could really show how history can repeat itself time and time again. First of all, The Red Scare can be compared to the Salem witch trials because

Today’s education system seems to be a problem in America because the society feels they are not receiving a fair opportunity to succeed. Funding College can have a negative outcome because colleges may become overcrowded and community college colleague’s wages may decrease. Degrees wouldn’t mean as much and taxes may increase. Community college being funded by the government can also have a negative impact on universities because everyone would go to a community before going to a university which could cause many problems. Funding college would add to the nation’s debt because the government would have to improve schools by reconstructing it, so more people would be able to attend the school.
The superhero or villain that I would like to change places for a day would be Natasha Romanoff, better known as the Black Widow who is apart of The Avengers. Even though she doesn’t have a robotic suit, a hammer, or a shield like some of the other Avengers, she can still take down an entire army with her impressive combat skills. In addition to her amazing fighting talent, Natasha does not age. She was born during WWII, but because her body has been scientifically engineered she is not affected by diseases and aging. Although it would only be a day in which I would not age, it would still be amazing to be one day younger.
Invasive species is a majority factor to the loss of biodiversity across the United States. The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) concluded in a study of invasive species that they are responsible for the decline or extinction of roughly 42% of endangered or threatened species in the United States. Invasive species is an organism that is not native to a location or ecosystem and offer the potential to cause harm to not only the environment, but also to human health and the local economy. The introduction of these invasive species into an environment has had significant impacts on the conditions in which native species survive and their ability to adapt to counter the new threat. Invasive species compete with native species for food and resources
