A question that might be asked for a long time. Should college be free? It is a very opinionated question and I think that it should not be free. I think it should not be free because taxes would go up, America would go into more debt, and because the value of a college degree would decrease.
Whether college should be free or not is a debate that has been going on for decades. In this article, however, we will figure out if college really should be free. College should be free, as there would be less student debt, more people would have access to a higher education, and it could lead society to new levels of innovation. First off, let’s discuss student debt. Student debt has been a rising problem, especially for those attending college in the United States.
A free college tuition is definitely necessary for students because some are paying for college themselves, the college workload is stressful enough, and scholarships, grants, and financial aid doesn’t cover all costs. College tuition should be free because it would create positive changes for people attending college, universities, and the economy. First, most students are paying for their own tuition themselves because either they want to be independent and do so, or because their parents have made that decision for them. Could you imagine starting a life with that large amount of debt on your shoulders? This should be a feeling that no one knows, however, it has become far too familiar for many Americans. I support free higher education because, Americans who made it to a public college should not be buried in debt, The United States of America is the richest country in the world and should provide free higher education like many other developed countries, and lastly, the high cost of free higher education holds back the citizens academic potential. Many politicians and everyday Americans do
By attending college, higher job opportunities will be available for much more people. With a higher educational background, the average income of an American will grow, which permits people to be able to afford the higher prices of taxes. Overall, America should allow free four-year colleges and universities available to all citizens. The overall positive impact that free college can have on our country- such as lower debt and lesser unemployed and homeless- will allow for the United States economy to be more stable and allow for its citizens to greatly benefit
College is so expensive, making it hard for some families or individuals to pay for college education. In today’s economy, a lot of jobs and even most promotions require a college degree. With the cost of education being so high, many potential students have avoided higher education for fear of debt. However, if more people could get their college degree after high school, it would not only help the individuals but also society as a whole. Therefore, the United States of America should provide free post-secondary education for all its citizens.
Many people debate whether college should be free or not. However, college should not be free because of the fact that you have to earn your way in by working hard. college tuition should be paid for because, if the United States had more and more students going to college instead of going straight to jobs the economy would improve greatly. A vast majority of those who graduate from college would be getting higher paying jobs than if they hadn 't gone at all, which in the long run gives them more money to spend and therefore increases tax revenues. The increased tax revenues would enable the government to provide services to the constituents. Having more money go into the economy will help money go towards funding college however they would choose to deal with splitting the costs. This would also help small businesses because if they have more revenue coming in that can be used to grow their small business bigger.
In today society, people are easily looked by their college degree level and they can be judged by their degree. But not everybody can afford to go to college in order to get a degree. People have different reasons of not going to college but most of the reasons are because of the tuition. Tuition are too high and they can not afford it. If the free college situation does not make a great effect on the economy, I believe that college should be free because free college can encourage more students to go to college, earn a degree and can decide on their future without the worry of paying debt and contributing to create a better society with their knowledges.

Many students already struggle with money due to the fact that they do not come from a privileged family so many opportunities don’t apply to them and in most cases they don’t even bother because they know they won’t be able to afford college and many don’t try. Free college tuition should be considered and enforced due to college being very expensive and most students don’t meet the requirements for loans or qualify for financial aid.
