Our society has been consistently changing throughout the years. It is developing new laws, new customs, and different beliefs. Things that we believed could never happen, are happening now. Society and culture in America today, is very different than the America we knew back in the day. Something that has been changing within our society, is transgender. In this class, we had to watch a show about growing up trans. The change with this is that it is children who are deciding to change from male to female and vice versa. It was hard to watch this documentary because it is children who are 9 years old that are deciding to make a big change within their lives. It is a change that is not meant for anyone to make, let alone a 9-year-old. Getting to the point, God created us how He wanted us to be. Psalms 139 talks about how He knit us together in our mother’s womb. It goes on to stay that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. That God created us how He wanted us to be created. I believe when a person believes they are transgender, they are confused and hurting. I do not know how a 9-year-old starts to believe that they are not the gender that they were born. I, somewhat, understand how parents do not want to lose their children so they go along with what they say. Some parents, in the video, talked about how they thought it was just a phase. So, some parents believed that they would grow out of it. While others just supported them in their decisions. And as a person pursuing a career in counseling, I do not entirely know how to handle something like this. But I know that as a Christian we should share the love of Jesus to them and not push what they are feeling aside. I believe they want to feel like they belong and accepted so they think that doing this drastic change will help. Little to they know that it is not what they are looking
