Arguments Against Outsourcing

I was a factory and call center worker in the United States before both of my jobs were outsourced to outside countries.In my personal opinion outsourcing is something that hurts job opportunities, causes added prices like tariffs and Import taxes and causes loss of culture as an effect of globalization. Therefore I am against outsourcing.The reason I have this viewpoint is that I have been impacted because I lost my jobs, things tend to have higher taxes.
Outsourcing is a poor idea because it causes a loss of American jobs and possible job opportunities. This is because we are pushing factory jobs and office jobs to other countries where we have little/no control over how they are run. These multi-national corporations are firing United States workers to get cheaper labor where there might be some more natural resources but for that US business owners can’t have subsidies from outside countries and can’t be protected in the other country bc their company is mainly in the US and the people …show more content…

As a result of pushing my job to another country, we need to pay extra for their services. These extra costs come from imports that the United States needed to get from the country, and then the US needs to tariff, tax, these items to persuade citizens to still buy from the US even though over 50% of our products come from outside countries. These countries have to pay to get these products exported then imported to the USA. Although these charges are to the company, us the consumers of the products end up paying that cost. Even if some countries have a comparative advantage with another country to get things cheaper, these costs end up adding up making it close to what we would have paid if we hadn’t outsourced in the first place. Costs can mean many things to me, money, time, but what about culture? Culture is important but what happened if we lose
