Bridge: People of color are going to prison at a drastically high rate for something they may or may not have done. Introduction of Topic: Racial profiling is happening all around the country and it is violating the rights and equality of African Americans. Thesis statement: Racial profiling is an ongoing issue that is caused by a variety of factors; there are solutions that can be implemented to stop inequality against innocent African Americans. Your idea 3: Most importantly, there should be more attention given to the issue of racial profiling against innocent African Americans so law enforcement agencies cam improve in finding the right people to work in the police force. Example: To demonstrate, "Revealing the facts is not meant to be an indictment against law enforcement agencies but rather on how to better screen, train, and hire those for the police work force" (El'Zabar 2). Analysis: Since racial profiling is caused by the conduct of law enforcement, hiring staff that is better trained and screened can improve the way police officers do their job.
