The Academy Plan, with which state schools in the UK will turn into academies, found much opposition in the House of Commons, forcing members from opposite parties to seek a coalition against it. Members from all sides, as well as teachers, can agree on arguments against the Academy Plan and the mental health cuts education has already been through. George Osborne, Chancellor of the Excheqeur, who is responsible for all economic and financial matters of the country, has announced his plan to drastically change the school system structure by turning all state schools into academies by 2022, in order for schools to gain independence from local authorities and be autonomous, which will hopefully save money from the budget that can be used for …show more content…

The schools that were converted into academies from 2010 cost about 323 million pounds and it is estimated that about 66000 pounds are needed for the conversion of each school.
