Phil Olif a Harvard graduate with a masters degree in public policy explains in his article titled An Update on State Budget Cuts published in 2011 the cuts that schools all over the United States of America have taken throughout the years. Phil goes into depth about the percentages of cuts that each State has endured. He also explains the effects that cuts directly would have on the amount of funding the each child receives (Olif). Tamar Lewin a reporter for the New York Times sheds light on the reasons districts are continuing to layoff teachers. Lewin provides the number of teachers being laid off. She also explains locations everywhere are going through this. Tamar explains that states must make these cuts in order to have enough money for the States budget (Lewin). These accredited writers overall have a similar viewpoint on the cuts going on in the United States Government. Phil Olif and Tamar Lewins both hope school cuts are the solution to United States government's budget get on track.

We cannot risk one state going under or else we then bring bigger problems into play. Although people must lose their jobs and education in order for the state to stay above water its okay as long as we're on track in regards to financials. The federal government oversees the states in regard to remaining on budget. This structure stresses the states to keep track and do what is ever necessary to do so. Schools have even started combining schools to help stay in business. The author admits that some of these school changes lead to a better education for citizens. All in all the process of states paying for education is a complex one that involves many factors for each state to preserve the money that they has been provided by
