Arminius walked slowly through the crowd. He had told Julie that he would follow her and Simon to Priscus City, but more than six years had passed since then. He could guess how they would react, but he didn’t expect it to be pleasant. He expected them to get angry at him for being so late, then to be confused as to why he still had the body of a nine-year-old child. Simon and Julie did not see Arminius until he arrived at their small shop and entered through the front door. He took a few steps inside and watched Julie tracing her finger over a strip of leather, then waited for something to happen. For a brief moment, Arminius contemplated going back into hiding. Though he looked confused, he didn’t verbally express it. “You survived?” Julie questioned, and he grabbed Arminius’ cheeks and asked, “But, why are you still so young?” Simon spoke, “You look the same as the day we found you,” and stopped just behind Julie. Neither of them could understand why Arminius had taken so long to come to them, and his similar appearance to himself from six years ago through them for a loop. As expected, they didn’t have any experience with the age-defying abilities an immortal magician possessed. “Let go of my cheeks,” Arminius said, and Julie released him. He continued, “I was preoccupied by certain events surrounding the House of Ovidius. Now, though, I have no further appointments with any members of their clan.” That said, Arminius remembered the rank 7 magician he failed to kill.
