Impacts Cost An impact that Enterprise Software & Hardware Development has to deal with is cost, when a business wants to upgrade their systems they must consider the fact that it will cost number and they will have to come up with a budget on how much to spend, but the desire upgrading may be outweighed by the amount of money they are able to spend. If Enterprise Software & Hardware Development is thinking about increasing profitability it might result in redundancies. Not only do the systems require money, the staff will need to be trained (upskilled) so that they can use the new technologies which add extra cost to the upgrading on a business system. Fewer businesses employ secretaries today and so staff and managers are expected to be administrators on top of their main job role. This will mean they all require the IT skills to use administrative software like spreadsheets and word processing. It is also unlikely that staff and managers will be able to pick up and run with a new system, staff might not have the skills necessary to carry out their jobs efficiently and effectively straight away. Staff may also be resistance about changing the system. Dealing with redundancies Enterprise Software & Hardware Development must deal with redundancy skills and employees in order to avoid unnecessary cost. For example if Enterprise Software & Hardware Development was to move towards a paper-les office or considering outsourcing some of its services, it needs to think carefully about the job being made redundancy and whether the salary saved benefits the business
