Introduction
As the Cloud Service Engineer for Technet Ltd I will be assessing the suitability of the Microsoft Azure cloud solution for the provision of services, Infrastructure, platform, software, web and management.
In this report I will be investigating and interacting with the features of Microsoft Azure. I will assess azures architecture, functionality and the services it provides as well as the benefits and challenges their architecture will provide.

Microsoft Azures platform allows users to easily expand their on-premises datacenter and Azures virtual network is what makes this possible. Before cloud when you had a situation where you needed to deal with increasing demand you had to purchase more servers and additional hardware and software. Applications and operating systems also had to be deployed across the new systems. These tasks were very time consuming and not to mention expensive to perform.

Microsoft Azures platform allows users to easily expand their on-premises datacenter and Azures virtual network is what makes this possible. A virtual network can be created using private IP addresses in Microsoft Azure. A secure link between your own on-premises datacenter and Azure can be created through Virtual Network. Data Services

Microsoft Azure data services provide businesses with the option of data storage, data access, data protection and data analytics. The business/user can then access their data from anywhere at any time. Even if your data is stored on-premises automated backups provided by Azure guarantee to keep it safe for you.

SQL Server
Virtual Machines in Azure can be used to run a businesses existing SQL Server applications. If a businesses applications need full SQL Server functionality then this might be the best option. Although this does require IT staff to maintain and patch the server. On-premises SQL databases can be easily migrated to the cloud and even better don’t require any code changes.

It is very easy to get SQL Server running on a virtual machine within Azure. You just choose the correct image from the preloaded images in the gallery. This is excellent for development and testing as it is so quick and simplistic to create a new virtual machine running SQL Server whenever you want
