On February 19, 2010 Tiger woods, a well-known golfer, took to the stand in front of a small group of family members, cameras, and media personalities. The subject of the press conference was to apologize for the cheating spree that he went on while married to Elin Nordegren. Woods took to the stand bearing multiple pieces of paper which he read directly from. During the speech he carried no pity for himself but at the same time asked the media to respect his privacy and allow him to make the changes needed in his life. From that moment on, the criticism, mockery, and foolish jokes began to surround Woods and his family.
Throughout all Shange’s book “For colored girls who have considered suicide/When the rainbow is enuf”, She works to give each woman a background whether it is a good or bad one, and then she uses the women’s backgrounds to help develop a story of how they found their courage to create a voice for themselves. The beginning of the poem, “Sorry” is interesting because it does not immediately start out with the lady in blue taking about how she was done with hear people say that they were sorry, it starts out with the other women in the book giving examples of how people have said that they were sorry in the past. In the poem it the lady in red says,” ‘now I know that ya know I love ya, but I ain’t ever gonna love ya like ya want me to love ya, I’m sorry’”.
In “Apoligy” Socrates refused to admit his accusation, but in “Crito” he chose to accept the death instead of escaping. His value towards justice can be reflected by much of his word that “justice” is not limited to individuals but at a higher level; it is like a shared value inside all human being. When Crito said his worry of “shameful reputation” of spending money for friend”, Socrates asked him why he needed to consider other people’s opinions. “The best people, who are more deserving of our attention, will believe that the matter was handled in just the way it is.” (44c)
Analyzing “The Case for Reparations” by Ta-Nehisi Coates The past is the past, but sometimes the past comes back and bites us on the butt. In Ta-Nehisi Coates’s article, “The Case for Reparations”, Coates describes the wrongful acts done by white supremacists towards African-Americans. Throughout his article, Coates provides strong logos and pathos to his argument. The one issue that he fails to discuss is ethos or credibility towards his argument.
While forgiveness keeps peace, it’s meaningless when the action needed to forgive is done over and over again; consequently, the rebated forgiveness turns into cold acceptance. It is from testing forgiveness that forgiveness loses its importance. We see this as Jeannette’s own forgiveness begins to wear thin at a very young age. Jeannette had just turned ten when she begged her father to quit his drinking. While he was able to quit drinking for a few days, he soon crawled back, sucking on a bottle of beer like a baby does a bottle of milk.
It was like no one cared about millions of people getting slaughtered. After WWII people has said never again. Well it happened again, no one did anything about it. For that the US and UN should have at least said some kind of sorry. President at the time, Bill Clinton, actually went to Rwanda to apologize.

In his First Apology, Justin Martyr relies on truth and reason to defend Christians, who are being treated unfairly. He believes that their beliefs are misunderstood and overlooked. According to Justin Martyr, Christianity is the most reasonable and he wants to convince the Emperor so that he ends the unjust treatment towards them. Justin Martyr begins by saying Christianity is the most reasonable; “It is the voice of reason, and ever attended to by men truly pious and worthy the name of philosopher, that truth alone is the thing to be had in the highest honour, and to hold the first place in our affections and the ancients to be followed nor one step further than they are followers of truth”(78).

Apology: Socrates Assignment In Apology, Socrates intent was not to apologize for his ideas and beliefs to the people of Athens, his purpose was to defend his practices by confronting his accusers, which put him on trial. Socrates charges consisted of inventing new deities, not recognizing the states Gods, and corrupting Athens youth minds. Socrates began his trial by speaking of his old accusers and the famous book The Cloud, acknowledging that people disagreed with him in his teachings. He then continued by turning from his old accusers to the current ones, more specifically Meletus.
Criminal behaviour has always been an interest for psychologists, for they could never quite come to a conclusion between nature and nurture. Research concerning this topic has been organized for many years and due to the never ending debate, is still being conducted. I have decided to read and write about this myself, for I was genuinely curious about the matter and wanted to be a part of the research, as I felt responsible to do so. I believe that in order to stop something, it must be discussed and scrutinized. What effects do genes have on criminal behaviour, why do peer pressure and habitat influence a person to commit crimes and are men really more violent than women?
