Many debates and controversies arrive on topics many people don’t agree upon. Some of those topics include abortion, medical marijuana, and many more. Assisted suicide also known as euthanasia is upon those topics that many people may or may not agree on. Some may say that it helps people end the pain or suffering they may go through, others say that it is like suicide and it is wrong and unjust, in many religions it is even a sin and in others it is a way to heaven and having people waiting for you. Each doctor has a Hippocratic Oath, with help someone with assisted suicide, the physician is technically break that oath. It can also be used for an easy way out. People with depression tend to want to end their life; with the legalization of assisted suicide it would be easier for anyone just to choose an easier way out. Anyone would be able to use it without first getting help, depression can be helped and could be treated, but opening legal assisted suicide can cause less help and an easier way out. It is legal in this state but many are against it because it is a form of suicide, in which is illegal in the U.S. Many people are against the thought of taking your own life only because of depression. Depression can be help and treated with therapy and counseling, but many decide to take the easy way out and some choose to do the Oregon state law of suicide. So how is this considered assisted suicide if you are ending your life by yourself? It is still concerned assisted suicide because there is a doctor there to help you. The way it is done is that the person in which is getting assisted suicide must contact a physician licensed and registered in the state. The person themselves must also be a resident of the state and must write to the physician about their decision, one being written and two being orally ( with 15 days apart ). When everything is approved the physician the patient is given a lethal dose and the patient’s life ends. This law is called the Death with Dignity law and is only legal in Oregon, Washington and Vermont. In other states like Arizona and California the Death of Dignity act is considered manslaughter and a felony and is illegal. There is no way of assisted suicide in these
