Asteria was a name given to quite a few different beings in greek mythology, however the name allways goes back to the meaning of a titan goddess, daughter of the titans coeus and phoebe. She was married to the titan perses and had a daughter, Hecate. Asteria was the goddess of nocturnal oracles and shooting stars. Zeus persued her, but asteria instead turned into a quail and feel into the Aegean to escape. As a result she transformed into Ortygia the quail island which later linked to the island of delos
