At times the most practical management and leadership lessons comes to us every day, in sports pages of your daily newspapers and on your favorite sport shows. Most times sports are about your performance, the three elements to perform at the highest level are drive, determination and discipline. Drive derives from the inner motivation to succeed. Determination, if your drive is your motor then determination is the fuel. Discipline, engage your drive and fuel from your determination comes down to discipline how badly do you want it? Effective coaches are concerned with maintaining good relations with team members and winning a specific contest (Williams & Krane, 2015; Anshel, 2012: Murphy, 2005 and Cox, 2012). Effective coaching results in athletes reaching personal achievements, performance goals and positive psychological outcomes. An important aspect is the athletes’ perception of coaching behaviors which creates the athletes attitude toward the coach and the sport experience. Cote and Gilbert defined coaching as “the consistence application of integrated professional, interpersonal. And intrapersonal knowledge to improve athletes competence, confidence, connection and character. One’s perception of another behavior is more important that the behavior it’s self when considering one’s feeling toward that person. Factual accounts on “mainstream or social media” from a tape of LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling allocating “racist” remarks to an audiovisual of the Baltimore Ravens’ Ray Rice attacking his “then-fiancée in an elevator” (Poor Sports, 2015, para. 1). Such behavior has provided tons of research to investigate the conduct carried out by some of those in leadership position. For instance, in a CNN Newsource (2013) an interesting research story was reported by the author. Newsource (2013) author raised an interesting question: “What football managers can teach you about leadership?” (para. 6). In this report, the author (2013) focused on a particular manager of a 2012 Harvard Business School study on leadership. According to Newsource’s author, (2013) those in a particular trade or profession can absorb significantly from examining the effort of fruitful effective “football coaches”, (para. 1). For example, in the report, Newsource CNN reporter (2013), who cites the work of Mike Carson reported that Carson stated “People think football is about buying and selling players and picking the team, but actually that is just a relatively small part of it.
