As a student with many qualities, I believe that I should be in the NJHS. Many of the traits that I have as an individual would benefit the standards that the NJHS expects. For instance, I am dedicated, diligent, responsible, and a strong leader. One trait I show off daily is my dedication for school. My priorities are set on getting good grades and working hard on my school work.
The Beneath the Armor of an Athlete by Lisa Whitsett, is about a book that shares her great experience as she stepped into the wrestling career. While the story, there are few elements that I found parallel which I had previously learned from last class. Self-talk is the repetitive example that had been brought in her story while becoming a wrestler. Toward the beginning of the novel, Whitsett explains are experience inside the sauna that changed her. During her time inside the, sauna almost every player had given up because of the atrocious heatwave yet she didn’t quit because she talked herself into enduring the pain.
I interviewed Dr. Lee Weidauer; he has a Ph.D. in nutrition, exercise, and food science, a master’s of science in exercise science, and a Bachelor’s of science in athletic training all from South Dakota State University. He is an assistant professor. His certifications and professional memberships include ATC, ACSM, and American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. When he was considering the career, what he wanted most was to help people.
Bowling Green vs Cincinnati After high school, I will be making a big decision to make for myself. The decision on which college should I attend. When I’m in college, I want to study to become an Athletic Trainer. The reason why is that it looks like a friendly campus to be on then Cincinnati.
As an Athletic Training undergraduate at Winthrop University, I am required to have at least 60 hours total from two Clinical sites. The two sites I was given at the beginning of the semester were Women’s Basketball and Fort Mill High School. While at my High School site for the first half of the semester I learned an astonishing amount of new things. Besides meeting new people and making relationships with new people in my major, I also learned firsthand what it could possibly be like to be an Athletic trainer. Although I played both basketball and football in high school I never really realize the importance of having an athletic trainer.
Keeping well known athletes is a job for the athletic trainer. For instance, Athletic trainers recognize injuries and evaluate how to resolve the injury and they range from pee-wee sports all the way to the professional level of sports. In 2001, director Antoine Fuqua released the film “Training Day,” starring Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington. Denzel Washington won a Best Actor award in 2002, from starring in this movie. “Training Day” is a crime film/thriller. Police drama, that involves a veteran officer, who is now a detective, taking a rookie, a former security guard, on his first day with the Los Angeles Police Department narcotics unit. In the movie “Training Day,” Alonzo Harris and Jake Hoyt are the two main characters’ names.
Through joining clubs and athletics I add to the tradition of community by being able to connect with the other people in the activities and become a team. I can to to pride by being able to show what I can do and wanting to share it with others. I am very proud of my skills and what I have done. After shadowing, and attending events at Saint Francis I feel this is a great school and would love to attend. If I am able to attend I hope to continue in soccer, and join other clubs such as photography, and campus ministry, and most of all being in the Saint Francis
Career in Athletic Training Athletic trainers are highly qualified health professionals who are trained in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. (“Explore Health Careers” 2015) Usually when you hear Athletic Trainer, you may think that all they do is sit around and wrap ankles. But there is actually more to this job, including an abundance of responsibilities. I am interested in pursuing a career in athletic training because i get to help athletes recover, and/or prevent injury so that they can continue to enjoy the game.
Athletic participation at all ages has increased tremendously over the years. Student-athletes are working harder to become bigger, stronger and faster. As the number of athletes rise in schools, so does the chance of athletic related injuries. This is leading to the increase number of athletic trainers at the high school level across the country. Athletic trainer is defined as a “health care professional who collaborates with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation” (AMA 19).
A good number of today 's athletic trainers were former athletes and were introduced to athletic training by their own injury and rehabilitation process. My reasoning for becoming an athletic trainer, like most of today 's athletic trainers, I have been injured and treated by and athletic trainer. And become of that, I would like to be an athletic trainer. Within 10 years I would like to be done with college with a bachelor 's degree in athletic training.
Cite specific examples of why you make an ideal candidate for this program? An ideal candidate for me is someone who possesses character traits as an individual. I believe that the two most important character traits are Initiative and perseverance. Not only will these traits help you become successful inside and outside of this program, install the importance of maintaining phenomenal grades, but they are also the traits you need to succeed.
My Career Goals: Athletic Training Outlined Any sports fanatic has heard about Athletic Trainers. Anyone who has watched, or has been to a sporting event, has seen the person who runs out and tends to the injured athlete on the field. That person is the team’s Athletic Trainer. While being strong and having skills are definitely needed to be a great sports player or succeed in keeping your body healthy and strong, it goes much deeper than that.
Athletic Training is practiced by athletic trainers. Athletic trainers treat and prevent injuries that are most of the time caused by athletic involvement. In the future Marsha would like to be an Athletic Trainer for The University of Wilmington. She wants to help athletes play to their best ability by ensuring the prevention to injuries and giving them immediate care.
When you look at me, what do you see? Do you see a harder worker, or a dual sport athlete? Well let me put myself in your shoes and tell you what I see. I see a young man who is dedicated in everything he is involved with such as school work with a 4.0 and sports basketball and football. I have a hard work ethic in school and sports.
