During World War II, the first atomic bomb used in warfare, had been dropped on Hiroshima by an American B-29 bomber, the 'Enola Gay'. On August 6, 1945, President Harry Truman tells the United States that an atomic weapon has been detonated in Japan. The atomic bomb had more than 20,000 tons of TNT, and more than two thousand times the blast power of the British "Grand Slam", the largest bomb ever yet used in the history of war. Although, I acknowledge it was a time of war where both sides harmed each other and done things seen as immoral. I do not think it was right because so many civilians had died. The bomb was partly dropped to show the world America’s power and use the people it was dropped on as test subjects for this new weapon. Though, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor first, I do not think the bombing is justified due to how much more horrific the death toll, and results of the A-bomb were. There is much speculation on what would happened if the bomb wasn’t dropped, and on any alternate methods President Truman had. If there was an invasion of Japan instead of the bombs dropping, it is estimated a million American soldiers would die, and many more Japanese. I think that no matter what happened people would have died, but no matter if the choice was right, or wrong, using nuclear weapons was just wrong even if it changed the path of history for better, or
