In the book Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli is survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp located in Poland during World War II. He lived to revealed one of the most horrific moments of his life. Dr. Nyizsli was a Jewish doctor transported away from his home with this wife and daughter. Unfortunately, when he arrived to the camp he was forced to separate from his wife and daughter. After being clueless about his family’s faith, he immediately claims that he was a doctor and volunteered to work under the supervision of Dr. Mengele hoping he would avoid working in terrible conditions. Dr. Nyizsli officially became a member of the Sonderkommando. Members of the Sonderkommando has a better working environment compare to the others in the death camp. They get to wear comfortable clothing and eat better meals. However, in return they have to deal with special work which was helping Dr. Mengele’s terrifying experiment on Jewish human subject. It was like telling them to dig their own grave. However, Dr. Nyiszli’s story was special. He was able to witness the secret research on human subjects and survived it to write this book. The Book made it seem like Dr. Nyiszli has nine lives.
