The film “Baby Driver” directed by Edgar Wright, uses many techniques to show his ideas to the viewer, some of these techniques are close up shot, dialogue, music, body language, and dialogue. These help the viewer to understand the viewpoint of the director and the way he wants to portray the characters, setting and to develop the story. This scene is important because it helps highlight the ideas of prejudice and bias, trust, values, power and being stuck in the criminal world. This scene shows that Doc has found the new crew to do the second robbery, and it shows the interaction of Baby and the new crew, also present Bats has a huge opinion on Baby think he is not capable for this job.

The technique was shown at the end of the scene where Bats said “ I got a question, Doc. Why would I believe Phones over here heard a goddamn word you said? You laid down your whole play. He ain’t even listening.” The viewer can see that the film technique effectively show Bats do not reliance on Baby because Bats saw Baby listening to music with his earphone and his hands in the gesture of playing the piano. This create a doubtful atmosphere as Bats questioned Baby if he was someone he could trust, it helps the viewer to determine Bats personality which can relate to his background. The director also used another film technique to link with dialogue which is body language, body language was used in the scene when Bats had his hand up immediately to question and be opposed to Baby as he said the dialogues, Bats also had his body turning to the direction of Baby when he suspects Baby. The combined use of dialogue and body language manipulates the viewer into feeling Bats has a huge complaint on Baby through the physical reaction in the body language and the dialogue, it present Bats as an arrogant and terrible person. The director's purpose in making the film was to portray the idea of trust and to inform the viewer that there is no trust in the film between Baby and the criminals. An example of the use of the over the shoulder shot is shown in the scene when Bats approached and confront with Baby, the over the shoulder shot was taken from Baby’s perspective so it evidently shows what Baby is seeing, it display Bat’s stern expression with the camera being focused on Bats to represent that he is a sovereign with the power. To help convey the idea, a second film technique was combined with over the shoulder shot which is the costume. From the focus of the over the shoulder shot the viewer is able to see the colour of Bat’s shirt is red, it assist the viewer to think of blood meaning he had killed victims and been involved in crime, picture of satan will pop up in the viewer’s head because Satan has red skin also is a devil that was compelling and powerful, it introduces how powerful and evil Bats is. Through the over the shoulder shot it shows the image on Bat’s shirt which is the king card to show Bats is the emperor with force and this gives the viewer a sense of oppression.
