The five public relations blogs I chose are, The Bad Pitch Blog, PR in Your Pajamas, PR Breakfast Club, PR Couture, and PR 2.0 Strategies. All of these blogs serve as a tool for anyone dealing in PR. Some of these blogs cover a wide range of topics in the profession and some cover more niche areas of PR. While these blogs may focus on different things, all of them give quality information and serve as a resource for how to practice effective public relations. Bad Pitch Blog focuses on the act of “pitching” your client to a media outlet. In public relations, “pitching” means selling your client to a media outlet, typically through email. This is one of the best blogs, because it is stylish and visually appealing while also providing relevant content to its audience. This blog’s posts are laid out almost like an instagram page. This blog’s content covers, public relations, expert interviews, career advice, DIY PR, and news and inspiration. Posts focused on things like, fashion brand collaborations in PR, tips to get fashion bloggers to attend events, and examples of how to utilize social media in fashion PR. Despite it’s glossy appearance, this blog could be improved by making it easier to navigate. It took more in-depth searching of this site to find its content compared to other blogs. Overall though, this blog is glossy and stylish, while providing content about creating effective fashion PR and career advice for PR professionals. PR 2.0 strategies, is focused around an online video course with PR professional Deirdre Breakenridge. This one of the best PR blogs, because it navigates one through the profession. It covers time management tips for PR, evolving roles in PR, ways to deal with stress of PR and other topics. This blog also had interviews with professionals in PR, guest blog posts, and book reviews. This blog could be improved by, not putting # in front of the words in it’s blog post title.
