Book Banning I think that the root problem with the book banning/burning was the level of maturity in the certain individuals affected. Both of these books were not made for children. I think the people in charge that banned Mr Vonnegurt’s book could have done better with their solution and the people at the Biloxi school came up with an adequate solution to the problem. An example is the book by Kurt Vonnegut, but they were still taught in the classroom.
This article by Stephanie Hepburn entitled “How to Stop Policing Girls” mainly focused on how girls and women are policed for the clothing choices they make. The writer gave many examples of how girls and women were policed in their everyday work or school area. In the article, it also
We’re not promoting sexual harassment we wearing clothes that want to the clothes that we look good in. Girls need to stop being told to cover up and boys to be old not to harass
Sagging Pants Sagging Pants started as a sex symbol in jail for people to know a man was a homosexual. Later in the years it become a part of the hip hop culture. Many artist such as Ice-T, Too-Short, The Game, 50 Cent, and Kris Kross . Sagging pants is a common trend in fashion; however it is not an acceptable image in corporate America because it represent an image of poverty, disrespect and illiteracy.
Lately, most kids or pre-teens are starting to dress to old for what age they really are. A solution that is by having school uniforms, they provoke that problem. School uniforms should be required for public schools. They have been increasing in public schools for the past five years. One in five public schools require school uniforms.
School Dress Code is Sexist School dress code has gotten out of hand, limiting young girls and boys on what they can wear to school. Telling young women that they are distractions in class because of what they wear. Girls get sent home because of their outfits it makes it seem like the administration is not worried about whether or not they get an education. Many types of clothing d or that have such as leggings, low cut shirts, and shorts have been banned or have restrictions. It is hard to find clothes that meet all these requirements.
Women are allowed to choose whether or not they want to wear pants or dresses(Kwai). Mergler is stating that jobs allow women to choose whether or not they like to wear different types of clothing. Therefore, students should not be restricted while going through school. Also, different types of clothing that may be comfortable for some girls may not fit the dress code.
School uniforms should be enforced in school districts throughout the country. The definition of school uniforms is standardized clothing for regular school attendance worn in conformity with school policy. There are strong points and facts that can be made why school uniforms should be worn by students. School uniforms can reduce violence and crime within the school setting. My next point will be school uniforms help students believe they belong and do not feel the need to dress a certain way to fit in.
Today's society has been sexualizing women for not only their clothing but, their sizes of their bodies and the clothing they put on themselves. Why is okay for the women to be treated like this but when men wear similar things it’s acceptable? Schools need to make their dress codes more flexible, meaning they need to make all rules apply to every student. “Maybe instead of teaching girls they should cover themselves up we should be teaching boys that we’re not just sex objects that you can look at and derive pleasure”.
This issue originated due to sexism existing since the beginning of the time. Having dress codes, and especially strict dress codes towards girls, is really just another form of keeping women in their place. This affects women, specifically young girls
Undressed yoga or nude is the method of yoga with no clothing. Nude yoga exercise needs to be looked at relative to the outfit code at yoga training courses, differing from various moments and yoga instructions. Although many exercise nude yoga in the home as well as in the natural world, certainly there are an increasing number of members in group courses. The technique is getting recognition, particularly in western communities which have far more informality with social nakedness. In the West ever since the 1960s, naked yoga practice has been integrated in the hippie activity and for example in modern environments with regard to welfare, like at the Esalen Institute in California.
Envision waking up every morning to put on the same outfit and walk out the door, stress free. People would not have to worry about what fits, or what is fashionable at the time. Schools would not have to worry about inappropriate clothing but at the same time, that clothing may be a way for a student to express himself. Many schools view uniforms as a solution to several problems, but many schools view uniforms as a lack of self expression. School uniforms should continue, even though children may not get to express themselves, because they prohibit violence, provide cheaper lifestyles, and promote better education.
Imagine you are sitting in a classroom filled with polite and poised children dressed all the same in their school uniforms. You feel peaceful and chaos free. School uniforms are required in a lot of public schools throughout all of america, but some aren't. This issue is affecting plenty of citizens throughout the united states. School uniforms should be required in all public schools across the united states because, school uniforms reduce the amount of distraction in the classroom, school uniforms create a positive, no violence culture and climate on campus, and lastly school uniforms end the competition between the rich and poor, weather it being about who has the nicest or most new up to date clothes.
School uniforms give students a sense of unity because they feel like they can fit in without fear of being too different. Making a dress uniform mandatory will decrease sexual harassment, create more interesting humans and make schools safer. A school uniform would make schools safer. The idea of wearing uniforms to schools was originally introduced to reduce violence in schools in 1996 by the Department of Education (Underwood, 1).
In conclusion, school uniforms benefit students in a number of ways. School uniforms are cost-efficient, promote equality among students and reduce the distractions that don’t relate to school work. Even Bill Clinton, former President of the United States of America said that uniforms are a “better” choice for students. I strongly believe that school uniforms should not be banned from schools and I encourage other schools who don’t require school uniforms to try as uniforms create a better learning environment for the future leaders of the
