If there is anything that the United States is known for around the other parts of the world, it is that Americans can be very patriotic, so much so that some citizens are more than willing to flaunt themselves dressed in the American flag from head to toe. The people’s patriotism, however, is not only limited to tacky tourist wear, but expands to the constant need to better the nation and maintain its greatness. So due of this national pride, it would make sense that Barack Obama, the president of the United States, would take the lead to encourage and extend that American pride into tangible progress. In his personal anecdote, he shares that he “…was raised by a single mom, and with the help of [his] grandmother and [his] grandfather” (Obama) with there being not much money to his family name. To add on, because of the help provided by the American people around him and their resources, the story conveyed him as someone who started on the bottom, and was now there in such an influential and impacting position as president.
