Brian Bosworth was a standout football player at Oklahoma, supposedly the next Dick Butkus. He was a three-time first team All American, two time Butkus award winner along with being a two-time Academic All-American. Bosworth led his team to three straight Orange Bowl appearances, and played in National Championships, winning one in 1985. He is debated as one of the best college football players ever with his nose for the football and the impact he made on every play, but debated as one of the biggest NFL draft busts ever.
Jonathan Wayne Nobles was not truly rehabilitated. Some individuals thought him to be rehabilitated, but others saw through his bogusness. From the examples that will be given; they will show how Nobles was just “faking it, to make it”. His actions, religion, and attitude show it all.

He starts out as a problem child that would steal, drink and smoke, but he eventually straightens out through sports and became an Olympian later in life. After he went to the Olympics, he gets drafted into World War 2.
Augusta Savage was one of the many women and men of color who participated in the Civil Rights Movement. She is known for her intricate dedication to sculpture and art and is remembered as an artist, activists, and educator, serving as a guiding light for her pupils, students, and those who she exposed her art to. During the Civil Rights Movement, Augusta Savage managed to make art inspired by the Civil Rights Movement and was a huge figure during the Harlem Renaissance, a period of Jazz music, art, and film. Yet, every artist have a beginning to a legacy of success and prosperity, and not much is known to juniors my age of how Augusta Savage has dedicated and contributed to the Harlem Renaissance and escorting an illumination on African Americans today. Augusta Savage was born February 29th, 1892 as August Christine Fells in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have an extensive history between the 1800s and 1900s. The first HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, was established in 1837 (Palmer, 2018). During the era of segregation, HBCUs were founded to provide higher education opportunities to Black students who were denied access to mainstream institutions due to racist policies and practices. The Morrill Act of 1890 played a significant role in the establishment and growth of HBCUs by requiring states to provide funding and land grants to Black colleges (NCES, 2020). As a result, many HBCUs were established across the United States.

Which she uses various ways to persuade her audience be in favor of her proposal; by showing statistic evidence, facts, and historical evidence, as well as some ironies, diction, and the appeals to reader's emotion. First of all, Gioia begins with strong appeals to reader's logos by clearly laying out the statistic source. For example, "According to the 2002 survey of Public Participation in the Arts, the reading population of the Americans is declining. " In turn, is an attempt to point out the thesis statement and make the readers to think out about this topic wile reading through her essay.

To be an honors student takes a lot of hard work. There are many factors that go into being a successful student. I believe that you must be determined, organized, and disciplined. These three qualities are the key to succeeding in your goals because I have used them all throughout my high school career, and plan to use them in college. Determination is the quality that makes you keep on trying, and to never give up, even if things get difficult.
