Basketball is the world's second-most-watched sport and the most-paid sport. But what is basketball about? It is an involved sport with two teams of five players each goal to score as many points as the other team. But you may be asking why is it a risky sport if there are a lot of good things coming out of it. The reason is that basketball involves a lot of movement, constantly running, jumping, and pivoting, which puts a lot of strain on your knees and joints. Additionally, the physical contact involved in the sport can lead to injuries such as sprains, strains, and even broken bones. However, with proper training, many of these injuries can be prevented. This article aims to bring more awareness, prevention, and safety measures to the sport. He stated, “research found that ankles were the most commonly injured body part for basketball players, making up 28% of all recorded injuries that led to hospital visits”. This means most of the injuries that happen when you play basketball are most likely an ankle injury. This also connects with me because I also had a similar injury not too long ago where I had to put an ice pack on my ankle.
