There were many battles during the American Revolutionary War. Some were more important than others, and some lasted longer than others. The Battles of Saratoga and Yorktown were both very important and somewhat long. The battle of Saratoga was important because this was the changing point for the colonists. The battle of Yorktown was important because it was the final battle in the whole war. Saratoga lasted for about a month, and Yorktown lasted for about 20 days. It lasted for about 20 days. The time frame of the war started late September and ended on October 19, 1781. The groups that were fighting the war were the, Colonists, French, and the British. The French and Colonists were on the same team in the war. Most likely the Colonists and the French made a “V” or a “U” shape as their defensive position on one side of the water. On the other side they made a small curved line as their defensive position. Notice that the colonists were attacking the British from on land, and the British were attacking on land and water. The British may have lost on a large grass field near a river of water. The battle could have kept on going because they were planning another attack but the Britain signed the treaty and the war was over. The treaty was called the Articles of Capitulation. The British surrendered this war, and the colonists won their freedom from the British. It was the last battle in the Revolutionary War because after the war the colonists made a treaty with the British to end the war right there and then.
