The American Revolutionary War was a war fought from 1775-1783, also known as the American War of Independence, between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen colonies. The colonies wanted independence and free from British rule. In order to gain their independence the colonies had to fight for it.
There was tension, blood, and tears with the Thirteen Colonies and Great Britain. This was due to the American Revolution that started in 1765 and ended in 1783. So how revolutionary was the American revolutionary war? Well, first what does revolutionary mean? Revolutionary means that things have changed dramatically.
How could the colonies political objectives be achieved by force of arms? Even though the British army was more experienced and better trained, the Americans soon realized they had too much land for Britain to take over. They used the land to their advantage by letting the British army take over the ports, but the Americans had the rest of the land. The Americans also had the French on their side. The British army was surprised how skilled the Americans were during the war.

The taxes placed on goods were to help the British in their times of war, and were not unreasonable or high in any manner. Why would you try to push away our protection and source of trade?

The ideals created by these revolutionaries are typically composed of a prosperous society void of any oppression, discrimination, and dependence which are sought out by overthrowing the current government. These ideals of a perfect ‘New Society’ are ordinarily never carried out to their fullest potential.
