The Voice of Con Critics I think the Patriots were absolutely wrong for their rebellion on Britain. The taxes placed on goods were to help the British in their times of war, and were not unreasonable or high in any manner. Even if there was no representation in the British Parliament, there was no such need to start a war to try to resolve such things, rather work with Britain and declare what you want to happen rather than force armed action. Why would you try to push away our protection and source of trade? We can’t survive alone to be an independent nation, we will have no more trade, no more protection, and now a new enemy.
Us loyalists felt that the King and his people had our best interests in mind, so we had decided to stay loyal to Great Britain. Loyalists were split into few groups. Some were simply afraid of fighting the British because of the undeniable strength of the British army.
