A battlefront in World War I (1914-1918) in the Balkan Peninsula

happened in southeastern Europe, known as the Salonika Front. The name

has now been altered to, Thessaloniki. It’s also acknowledged as Balkan

Front or Macedonian Front because it runs through the region of

Macedonia.In August 1915, Austria-Hungary,Germany,the Ottoman Empire

made up the Central Powers and Bulgaria joined as an ally,then joined

together and attacked Serbia in October, although some of the Serbia army

escaped into Albania,Montenegro,the ports of the Adriatic Sea, to the Greek

island of Corfu. While Greece’s neighbors remained neutral, despite that the

troops were mainly British and French were invited to Salonika.
