World War I Was one of the bloodiest wars ever. World War I was a war fought in Europe between Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, and the United States and many others. World War I was ultimately started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. The indirect causes were more significant to the outbreak of WWI than any direct cause. There are several causes that forced Europe into the “Great War” such as militarism,alliance systems, imperialism,and militarism.
In the year of 1915, a war broke out in Turkey, between the ANZAC soldiers and the Turkish soldiers. The war took place between April and December of 1915. Many young Australian and New Zealand soldiers decided they wanted to battle. However, once they arrived to Turkey, the troops over in Turkey were ready for any attack. Many people believed that if they attacked and defeated Turkey, it would shorten World War 1.

The victorious countries in WWI included Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, later the United States, and France (which were called the Allies) were very angry and upset and needed a country to blame for all the death and destruction that was caused by the war. The country that the Allies and especially France decided to pile all the blame onto was Germany. They did this with the Treaty of Versailles, which imposed harsh punishments on Germany and made them take the blame for the entire war, even though Germany was not the country that started World War One, Serbia was. The punishments that the Allies and
World War II was a global war that covering every continent and most countries in the world. Starting in 1939 and continues until the end in 1945, although there were a conflicts began earlier. The real cause of this war is still debating. Whether it is the unfair ofTreaty of Versailles, world economic problem, the failure of League of Nations, the usurpation of power by some group of people, etc.
In the early 1900s, Social Darwinism and nationalism ideology played a large role in how nations competed for land and power. The competition was a motivation for the desire to conquer and obtain land, therefore increasing the population within the country’s power. This increased population allowed for more people for trading, marketing, serving in the military, and other important aspects of European life at the time that increased the economic and political status. World War I, which broke out in 1914, was mainly caused by the desire for colonization, unbalanced militarism, and the conflict and treaties between alliances.
The end of World War I was difficult for everyone. Debt, unemployment, shortages, etc. plagued the United States. The 1920s, or Roaring Twenties, brought a lot of good economic, political, and social changes. Plenty of major changes took place in society during this time.

On July 28th, 1914 a life changing event occurred, World War 1(WW1). There have been many reasonable explanations for the cause of WW1. That really doesn’t matters except for the fact that many countries were fighting each other over the span of 4 years. There were two sides to the war.
World War 1 was an atrocious war that caused millions of deaths and hundreds of billions of dollars in reparations. World War 1 lasted from 1914 to 1919 and rudimentarily, was the fight between the Allied powers and the Central powers. The Allied powers consisted of France, Great Britain, Russia, and Belgium while the Central powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. All countries had some participation and damage done throughout World War 1, and the countries who started the war may be obscure. However, there are some countries that can especially be picked out for their contribution and cause for the war.
The United States had for years been improving and growing rapidly. Away from the other world powers in Europe, they were able to avoid their conflicts for a long time, but that changed. America got involved in World War One and it affected some of their advancements. U.S imperialism was able to thrive in WWI, with America using the power to expand their empire. American progressivism however, fell between the cracks and disappeared for a long while during and after the war.
Large alliances formed, such as the triple entre (France, the UK, and Russia) and the central powers (Austria-Hungary, German Empire, and Italy) The alliances gave military support to each member, but would also drag all the countries in one alliance to war if war was only declared on one nation (http://europeanhistory.about.com/od/worldwar1/a/World-War-One-The-Major-Alliances.htm). During the July crisis, the Austria-Hungarian empire asked if Germany would help them in the war against Serbia. Germany replied back and said they’d give them full support. Austria started to mobilize their army against Serbia, and since Russia was allied with Serbia.
The United States declared war on Germany on April 6, 1917 during world war 1 American soldiers under General John Pershing, Commander in chief of the American Expeditionary Force,arrived on the Western Front in the summer of 1918. During the war, the U.S. mobilized over 4 million military personnel and suffered 110,000 deaths, including 43,000 due to the influenza pandemic. The impact of the great war on the United States saw political,economic,and social change.
Serbian nationalism was the most significant contributing factor in the Balkans to the outbreak of the First World War. Nationalist Serbs wanted the unity of Serbdom and to create a Greater Serbia that included the provinces Bosnia and Herzegovina. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand triggered the First World War and was prompted by the nationalism of the Serbs against Hapsburg control. If this trigger did not take place it would have been another event. But it is not surprising that it occurred in the Balkans; a volatile region, as Bismarck had predicted decades before; “ If there is ever another war in Europe, it will come out of some damned silly thin in the Balkans”.
Introduction ‘The future,’ as British physicist and posterior Nobel Prizer winner Dennis Gabor once said, ‘cannot be predicted, but futures can be invented.’ (1964 p. 207). Indeed, over the past centuries warfare, parallel to the tactics, techniques, procedures and technology implemented have substantially evolved. Therefore, it could be argued that Sun Tzu, Machiavelli and Clausewitz would have been in difficulties envisag-ing drones, air-to-air refuelling, precision-guided munition or domains of cyber and space to be emerged. Behind all this, however, are people – practitioners, academ-ics and scholars – spending intellectual energy and ink while conducting a com-plete analysis of past wars and developing some hypothesis about future war.
Greece Involvement in World War 2 I wanted to pick this topic as my research question as I did not know much about Greece’s involvement in World War 2, but I knew that it is widely celebrated in the country. As being a Greek this was something I would love to spend the time to research to learn more about my heritage. This was something I believe that most of the class really did not know as well. So heading into this research I did not know where to begin. I began my research on getting a general overview on Greece during the World War.
