The Fabulous Maid LLC stretches across the whole Boston area and understands the historic value that the area has to offer. Bay Village, although the smallest neighborhood in Boston, has a large amount of history. The Neighborhood only covers about 6 square blocks, but walking through it can take residents and visitors back in time. One of the strongest indications of the time period is the architecture. They still hold the Federal period architecture and stand tall. Also, this neighborhood boasts plenty of tree 's, making it easy to take a stroll outside. The neighborhood was fist drawn up by developer Ephaim Marsh in the 1820 's as he became the owner of that land. He also built his own home, the address, 1 Fayette Street. The 1860 's brought an interesting delema, that now makes the city more noticeably historic. The sewage system flooded basements, causing the city of Boston to lift the small neighborhood 18 ft above sea level. Gravel and rail was used under the houses. Some backyards were only lifted 12 ft above sea level. Today, as many walk by, they can notice the sunken gardens and it is just a reminder of how much history this neighborhood has endured.
