Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire is an adult novel revolving around two college students, Abby Abernathy and Travis Madoxx. Abby is a good girl. She is well put together and has a lot going for her. Travis on the other hand is the opposite of Abby. He is a tattooed, rebellious man who likes trouble. He is everything Abby tries to avoid, but inevitably can not avoid. This book tells the fiction love story between Travis and Abby. Within the first few chapters of this book it introduces some important characters. It talks about Abby and Travis, but it also introduces America Mason and Shepley. America is Abbys best friend and Shepley is Americas boyfriend, who also happens to be Travis’s cousin. Travis is involved in an underground fight club which Sheply attends to watch. The book starts by America, Shepley, and Abby going to the fight club. Travis is up against a varsity wrestler from his school, but easily takes hime out. In the process of the fight Abby is standing a little to close and ends up getting blood on her sweater from the fight. After the fight Travis finds Abby and introduces himself to her for the first time and calls her ‘pigeon’ which is a nickname that sticks throughout the whole book. Jealousy was a main one. Travis was very protective of Abby throughout the book, even when they weren’t together. This protectiveness her had for her caused him to be very open to jealousy. Often times he would get jealous over small things and upset Abby. The biggest time where you see this jealousy from him is when Abby and Parker get together, and he interferes and ruins it.
