Weeks of college search and then you collide; thank God you did not collapse! Yes, I collided-with the most important answer yet I had to arrange for my questing future-my decision to become a Reedie from a Prospie leading up to my PhD- or – to the inclusion of my name in The Scientific American’s list of thirty under thirty scientists! Free love resulting from Honor Code and learning for the sake of learning are the two most important aspects of Reed education which makes me desire Reed for my future. My passion and intellectual responses would be able to not only challenge but would defeat ignorance with help of Reed education which allow access to intellectual resources like Hauser Library. I see it rather as an experience to learn to be a great optimistic citizen with a sense of social activism to accept challenges. I aspire Reed for my future due to its concept of students for education, empowerment and direct service coupled with considerate response towards sustainability. With availability of dual degree program and direct assistance from teachers instead of teaching assistants, I would be able to propagate new ideas along my journey of transformative education as a Reedie. Emphasized research thesis to exuberant research reactor along with other research resources at Reed would feed my ever-hungry curiosity for discovery. Gray Fund activities, Paideia, Nitrogen day and the most awaited Renn Fayre would add true celebrations in my life. Ultimate Frisbee would undoubtedly add the ultimate perfection to my Reed experience. After reading Reed’s prospective, talking to Reed’s students and having undergone fabulous discussion with Reed’s alumni’s, I don’t consider there exist any doubt, that Reed will prove to the best fit for me enabling me to become a critical thinker. Undoubtedly, after the fortunate collision, the Reed’s name has coalesced with my heart. I have spent hours pondering over the philosophy of Allama Iqbal’s poetry and his message to leave the comfort-zone and struggle beyond the self-set limitations.
