Oklahoma Baptist Mission Statement.
The mission statement of Oklahoma Baptist University is one of the reasons I chose to apply here. Consisting of four main values, (equip students to pursue academic excellence, integrate faith with all areas of knowledge, engage a diverse world, and live worthy of the high calling of God in Christ) it outlines everything I wish to accomplish in my college career as well as my private and professional life. My top priority for picking a college was its value system. I want to attend a university that incorporates God in every aspect of it. For the past 12 years, I have been attacked for my beliefs by teachers and students alike. I’ve been ridiculed and mocked for loving God by my peers and have had evolution

This idea has been one of my biggest focuses throughout all of my education. I have striven to achieve and succeeded in maintaining all A’s for the duration of my educational career. In addition to that, I have pursued complete knowledge and understanding of the subjects that I am in. I have studied college level material for several of my classes as well as Science Olympiad. Not only was I studying for myself, I was studying for my team. I was deepening my knowledge of human anatomy and how diseases are spread to allow us to succeed at state. This value was of utmost importance when I was deciding on a college to go to. This concept will be strengthened in my education at OBU because every class I take will include God, not brush Him off to the side. Up to this point, every class I’ve taken has been nothing but an attack on my faith. It was hard to never hear creationism taught as the truth or the Bible ever being mentioned in history classes. But here at OBU, He will be the most important part of every lesson. This will be the most evident in science classes. Everything in the class will point to Him, and not try to disprove His existence. I am ecstatic to be in this type of learning environment, and I know that this idea will carry on into my teaching career. It is the reason I wanted to become a teacher in the first place. I want to give kids the opportunity to have God in their education without having to make their parents pay for private education. This mission will be at the forefront of my career each and every
