Creative Writing is a place to me that feels like home. A home where I was reborn and raised to become, utterly and truly, ‘me’. After roaming the streets of life senselessly, and feeling lost, I found the ‘house of words’ where I discovered who I was. I was finally free. Free to explore the dimensions of my imagination, and free to tell my story. I’d never felt more vulnerable, and yet empowered at the same time. I was no longer voiceless, or homeless. I had unearthed a way to express the intangible world inside myself through words. I had constructed a bridge of communication between me and the world.

My journey into the woods of creative writing began when I encountered stories. Stories in books and movies that marvelled me; in poems that spoke to me; and in song lyrics that captivated my every bone. I could escape entirely into another imaginary world, or find a great sense of comfort in recognizing myself in a relatable character. This incredible power of literature is exactly why I dream of becoming a writer. If I could inspire and relate to a single person through my words, like my literary heroes have inspired me, my dream would come true. A magical realm of allegories, metaphors and anecdotes that aid me to convey motifs. A few recurrently surfacing motifs in my writing include struggle, motivation, identity, human nature, and time. I’m drawn towards exploring the literary genres of fantasy and young adult fiction. The concept of masterminding an entire new world based on imagination is spectacular. The motifs of discovery and a sense of enchantment in young adult fiction are blissful.
