“Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life”-Confucius (Coombs and Arcand). This is something my mom always told me growing up and I have always taken it to heart. This is because if I am enjoying and having a good time then it will not feel like work. This just means I need to find something that would make me happy every day. As a graduating senior, I have taken the interest survey, and I understand why the survey recommends agribusiness as a potential career field because of how I would get to work with my hands and also because it's a well-paying job. In the article “37 Essential Skills to be a Welder”, the Indeed Editorial Team explains a couple of different ways how paying attention to detail is a good skill to have in welding. The text states, “Some of the most important skills related to attention to detail are the ability to cut with precision” (37 Essential). When cutting there will be a certain angle that needs to be cut out to be able to fit the two ends together. This shows that in the welding field, it is important to make very detailed and precise cuts so that everything will fit with ease. Again, in welding it is important to follow directions very precisely. It states in the article, “One of the most important skills to pay attention to detail is the ability to precisely follow directions” (37 Essential). Most welding is done using a welding blueprint which is a set of specific directions that have to be done exactly as it says. These directions have to be done exactly right not only so it will be built but also it has to pass a welding procedure specification.
