Belinda Major: Today I will be sitting down to speak with Royal Air Force (RAF) Pilot officer Eric Lock Stanley Lock of squadron 41 about his experience being a fighter pilot in the RAF during World War 2. In particular, the battle of Britain, Eric Lock was one of the most successful pilots in the battle with the highest number of kills. His total number of 26 kills and the youngest pilot to earn the title of a Flying Ace and many medals and awards came his way. The battle of Britain was one of the most significant battles between Britain and Germany it was also the first major battle that took place in the air. It took place on the 10th of July to the 31st of October 1940, it was an attempted from Hitler to control Britain after recently taking down Franc. Hitler wanted to expand his nation by taking down the big enemies forces especially Britain, it resulted in Britain winning over Germany, thanks to a small but strong and advanced air defence team from the members in the sky to the ladies on the ground with their head seats and maps helping pilots understand where they had to go. I have just 6 questions for you Eric Lock all to do with the fighter pilots in the war.
Belinda Major: Hello Eric, hope all is well,
