On April 19, 2018 the “New York times article indicated that Bella was a three-year-old girl who had apparently been abused by her mother’s 32-year-old boyfriend who went by the name of Mr. Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins had been suspected abuse the little girl for no apparent reason. He claims that the cause of 3-year-old Bella death was unknown and a natural cause. On behalf of the mother she failed to protect the child being that Mr. Jenkins was an ex-convict. Bella Edwards was beaten to death while in Mark Jenkins care. The child was considered a victim of child abuse and she was beaten to death. Mr. Jenkins knew had a record a spent 5 year in the Bronx prison for attempted murder. The form of child maltreatment that falls back on the mother is that she had a daughter in the care of a criminal who known already had a record and was considered as dangerous. The autopsy revealed that Bella had died from force trauma to her abdomen, and her death was considered a homicide. It had been apparent that two law enforcements were aware of Bella abuse. They were told not to speak out about the current situation, reporter as added that Bella had injuries on her lower back that were consistent with physical and sexual abuse. Bella wounds had what they considered to be healing in different stages somewhere old while others were fresh. I think that it’s awkward that you’re a parent of a child and not notice the changes in a child behavior. I’m positive if bella had been beaten and sexual abused like the article stated there was some type of change in her behavior that the mother just failed to pay close attention to.
