In ancient Greece, Marijuana was used as a remedy for ear aches, edema, and inflammation. During the middle ages, Marijuana was in almost every herbalists medicine cabinet (according to ProCon.org). Edibles are a consumable item (food/drink) that contains THC. According to TheCannabist.com, There are few rules/regulations implemented on THC content in edibles. In Colorado, The recommended serving size for THC is 10 milligrams.. Before this rule was implemented, Marijuana stores were making edibles that contained up to 150 milligrams of THC. The reason the 10 milligram regulation was implemented is because many parents would eat part of their edible and leave it lying around where there kids could get it. In some cases, these children would eat some of the edible that contained 150 milligrams of THC. There are new regulations being set to fix this. John Hickenlooper signed a bill recently that regulates the way the edibles look and the way they are packaged. These new regulations are going to make edibles look less like regular everyday candy, and make it so children can't get into the candy if properly handled by the consumer. One factor that is majorly affecting the outcome of the possible legalization is money. The US government knows that if they legalize Marijuana recreationally, they can apply high tax rates and make a lot of money in taxes. In the first 4 months of sale, Colorado made $18 million in taxes from both recreational and medicinal Marijuana. That money can be used to help the state grow and fix problems. Another factor is jobs. The recent legalization in Colorado has created over 10,000 jobs. If every state were to legalize even just medicinal Marijuana, it would create over 500,000 jobs in
