The United States Of America is the greatest country ever to touch the planet earth. The only why our nation is like this is because the people living in it all have the American dream to make the world a better place for everyone to live
After reading various poems about our nation, many can conclude that different people have different opinions and views on America. When people hear the word “America” some feel upset or gloomy. Some may feel warm or cheery inside. Some may feel indifferent or confused. There are a million and one ways that people express their emotions towards the land of the free and the brave.
America, the land of freedom, opportunity, and heroism. This is America, an unlikely country born of bravery and courage. It’s beginnings were humble and small, but like all valuable things that were meant to be, it grew, beginning with a few struggling colonies in the New World under the rule of Great Britain, to a thriving nation. After years of sickness, hunger, and overall hardship, the colonists stayed strong, and pressed forward.
What does it mean to be an American today? Being an American isn’t hard,but sometimes people just like to not follow things. First thing is being to say The Pledge of Allegiance in school than sitting down on your lazy butt. Second thing is being yourself. Three thing is if you are at a game standing up and put your hand on our heart for The Star Stander Bender .
What it means to be an American is that you have the freedom to vote freedom of speech. You have the liberty to be what you want in America no one chooses for you. Also have the liberty to work wherever you want not be someone 's slave. Being American means you don 't have to hide your religion, the color of your skin or your sex. You have the ability to speak what you want.
America, is a child that sleeps all day, and cries all night A nation with a hand stretched out to others, yet cares nothing for it’s own, homeless, and downtrodden. A nation where people come from all over to be something, but die with being a nobody, and dying with nothing.
For many years, and years to come, America has been a country that many people like to visit and enjoy. We are very patriotic here in America, many people believe in our country’s ways and leaders. People enjoy visiting America not only because of our wonderful land and nature, but also because people like to see what it is like to be free and to have freedom of expression and all of those amendments that make our country free and great. Though we do have great lands and an extremity of beautiful nature surrounding us, especially here in Michigan. America has been known as a very patriotic and fair country, we are the land of the free and home of the brave.
What Does It Mean To Be An American What does it mean to be an american? Isn’t that the question that every american citizen wonders at some point in their lives? It is a simple question that can be taken different ways and answered in many different forms. Some may answer as a personal opinion, others as a factual statement, I however agree with those who see it as an opinion. Every person in America is different in some way.
Being an American can mean many different things all depending on the different perspectives of different ethnic or religious groups. So what does being an American mean to me? Being an American to means that everyone can live a happy stress free life where they don’t have to worry about being discriminated against or feeling like they don’t have equal rights. To start with, being an American can range in definition depending on a person 's perspective of America. Personally, I would say being an American is when you can live a happy life where you don 't have to worry about being treated differently because of the color of your skin.
When I was six years old, living in Ethiopia, my dad won an American green card visa lottery among 53,000 people. Although it was exciting news, family members were discouraged because my dad could not afford the visa processing and traveling expense. However, he found a sponsor in Seattle, which allowed him to settle in America. As soon as he found a good house and a stable job, he started the process for me and my family. Multiple errors and obstacles delayed our processing for five years.
America is the place that seems to give opportunities and equal changes to all. They have more freedom than others (but not total freedom). America is a united people working together. I believe America is a place where all people have a chance to succeed in life. I also believe that in America people have the freedom to stand up for their beliefs and fight for them.
What is America, what makes this specific country stand out so much? The United States is an exceptional country made up of 50, independent, free states. The country was declared as independent in 1776, and it has grown and developed so much in every way, since then. The country started as nothing and has only gone up, creating everything from scratch. From my perspective, it is hard to construct something from nothing, of course I only know this from making science projects, but in the end, the context can be perceived as the same thing.
In the novel Americanah written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie it is firstly agreed that the novel is a deeply felt book. Secondly both lyricism and erudition is evident throughout the novel. Thirdly the novel is an important novel to the people of today. Lastly the importance of the novel never weighs down the need to tell a human story. Americanah is written from a sincere perspective as Adichie herself grew up in Nigeria and also went to America for her studies.
When you ask a non American “What does America mean to you?” , they will more often than not answer with hamburgers, obesity, NFL and Reality TV. That is okay because who doesn 't love hamburgers and football filled Sundays, who doesn 't love watching silly reality TV shows and who doesn 't love a cheat day every once in awhile? Those people are judging a book by its cover and fortunately for me… well my thoughts about America are quite different. When an individual asks me “What does America mean to you?”
When a person hears or sees the word America, what do they think? America is a country that almost everyone in the world knows about because there are certain words and phrases that can be used to describe it. Some common terms are sports, equality, the melting pot, powerful, freedom, hard working, and some more. All of these words make up what is known as the American Identity. This American Identity has been built up over time by people’s actions and thoughts.
