I recognize the National Junior Honor Society as a prestige group that contains members who excel at demonstrating Scholarship, Service, Citizenship, Character, and Leadership. They prove to have many advantages, a highly beneficial one being the experience in such an honorable organization. The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. Having national junior honor society for both middle school and high school would give me a better chance to get into a college I really want to get into. I’ve always wanted to be someone who could help or make a change in this world, instead of just trying to get through life easy.
There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
What I see as the function of the National Honor Society is to encourage young adults like myself to participate more within their school and community. It allows students the ability to give and serve other people that have done so for them. This group will give many students an eye opening experience on volunteering for fellow citizens. If I were to be selected into the National Honor Society, I would contribute to the group by sharing ideas and giving useful feedback to the other students in the group. I would also provide personal experiences of certain voluntary services that I have completed, if needed.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.
The National Honor Society is a society created to assist students in becoming well-educated scholars and assist them through their journey in high school. I believe that I am well qualified and am very fitting to be inducted into the National Honor Society. These reasons are scholarship, leadership, service, and character which I will further explain throughout this essay. Scholarship is the area in which I take the most pride. I have first demonstrated scholarship by always working hard on my assignments.
Furthermore, I would be around people that share my desire to progress academically, and thus would drive me to maintain my academic rigor and continue to grow and learn as a student. Participating in a community service activity has always been something I wanted to do, and the National Honor Society would give me more opportunities to help my community and make it a better place. I am interested in joining the National Honor Society because it symbolizes all of the principles that I hold dear in my life. Every week I spend time at the Morristown Medical Center as a volunteer, where I am able to help keep things functioning in the hospital at the highest speed possible and hopefully brighten a few patients’ days. Also, I’ve enjoyed helping refereeing youth basketball games for the past two seasons and being able to talk with the kids. It is a great opportunity to give back to a program which gave me so much in the five years I played in it when I was younger. Furthermore, I am excited for even more opportunities to have an impact on my community which being a part of National Honor Society would aid in.
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
I will make sure to do my part by leading by example, serving my community and school, staying true to myself, and performing in school to the best of my ability. National Honor society was established to recognize outstanding high school students. National Honor society recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of academic success, leadership, character and service. I should be in National Honor Society because I think I represent a lot of the qualities needed to be in this organization.
