There have been many stories about many different heroes and their different power. In this story the hero's name is Beowulf. The great warrior was called about to come to Geatland and help its people because of a hideous monster that’s killing them all. Through this brilliant story Beowulf shows many attributes to being a real hero. He’s extremely courageous and fearless. He shows very little fear all through out this story.
One quality that Beowulf possesses is is unnatural strength. He shows that no one will be able to defeat him and he tells the townspeople great stories of him defeating five ginormous giants and killing sea serpents in the sea of monsters. In the story, it is said that “ Beowulf, Higlac’s followers and the strongest of the Geats- greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in this world.” This quote means that Beowulf and his men are the strongest in the world. During his battle with Grendel at the very end of the battle, he kills Grendel by shredding is shoulder and tearing his arm right off with his bare hands. He shows that regardless how big or how dangerous the creature may be that him and his men can defeat it. He didn’t even hesitate when he went to fight Grendel. He showed the people that he was by far the bravest man that any of the townspeople or Hrothgar the King. He did this willingly to help the Danes from them and their town from being destroyed from Grendel’s wrath and pure evilness. Beowulf may have been one of the bravest warriors ever in his time.
