Do you know what it feels like to live by yourself in the 1930's? In the story, Bud, Not Buddy Bud, a 10-year-old boy lived in Flint Michigan and lived by himself. He lived by himself because his mom died, and he was on the lamb to try and find his dad. The story Bud, Not Buddy would have been different if Hermon E. Calloway was his dad because Hermon would have been nicer because he would have remembered Bud faster, everybody would have been nicer because Bud wouldn't have been so mad, and Hermon would have loved Bud more because Hermon and Angela might have been closer.
Brother Against Brother I grew up with a healthy diet of American Civil War History. When I was young, my family took a thorough vacation to Gettysburg. I 'm currently serving as our schools FFA secretary and FCCLA Vice President. I also participate in FBLA, 4-H, and I love to rodeo. As for sports I play volleyball, basketball, and track. My future plans are still undecided but in the fall of next year I 'll be attending K-State
Throughout high school, I have been involved in a great number of activities. These include athletics, clubs, and taking part in community service. I have played varsity field hockey my freshman, sophomore, and senior year of high school. I also played varsity lacrosse my freshman and sophomore year. The sport that I am most well known for is swimming, which I have participated in for all four years of high school.
In high school I have participated in a variety of extracurricular activities. As a freshmen I was a member of marching band. I was treasure and then secretary of the band council. Also, I was tuba section leader and low brass super section leader. As a sophomore I was secretary of SASA, “Students Against Substance Abuse,” and president my junior year.
I enjoy outdoor sports/activities, such as, trapshooting, hunting, and fishing just with my family or friends. More competitively I also play varsity basketball, football, track, baseball at my high school and have succeeded in receiving many honors while playing these sports in the past years. But these awards and accolades are not the true reason why I love and enjoy sports so much. This past summer I had the privilege to coach and ref a youth league at my high school with hundreds of future Wahlert students and hopeful basketball players. It was really cool for me to do this because I remember being a kid in the camp when I was younger and looked up to the varsity players coaching like they were gods almost.
Cross country and weightlifting were two extra sports I loved to be a part of because I got to meet new people and take part in an individual type sport. My main sport is softball. I have been a varsity captain all four years of my high school career and I also have gained many achievements through this sport. My varsity sports are my favorite extra- curricular projects. High school extra- curricular activities are not only important to students but also important to the high school in general.
I also have volunteered at my stuffed bags many times helping children in the foster program. I have been very active in competitive sports since 1st
Ever since I was little, being on Clearfield High School drill team was always a big dream of mine since I saw them perform at multiple of their schools football and basketball games. My parents took me to my first dance class when I was three years old and ever since I fell in love with that particular sport. I was different from all of the other kids at my school because they always got to play with the other kids from school and I always ended up having dance, but I didn’t mind because that was where most of my really close friends was at my childhood dance studio. I grew really attached to everything about that studio.
The activity I enjoy outside of my classes is Lacrosse. I started playing Lacrosse in third grade by joining the Farmington Youth Lacrosse team. Lacrosse is something I care about because it is something I am good at and enjoy playing. I also like being on a lacrosse team because it helps me work together with other people and collaborate on group projects in school. What keeps me playing lacrosse is there is always something you can do better and trying to be the best you can be is fun and challenging.
As a student in highschool, I contribute to numerous teams. I participate in cheerleading for varsity football and basketball. For cheerleading we all work together and create cheers and dances that we perform at games. We also are assigned to compose cheers by ourselves to teach the whole squad. I have been a cheerleader for three years now.

When young people leave home for the academic world, they embark on a new journey that includes independence, adventure, and uncovering their individuality. Most students are not prepared for the trials of academe and end up feeling overwhelmed. College life can be a hard adjustment.
